Meet the 2024 Youth of the Year Candidates!

    Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center

    Meet Adam! He is 17 years old and a junior at Vista Real Charter High School. He is in our advanced boxing program at the Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center and aspires to study at Modern Beauty Academy to become a barber. He would like to be 2024 Youth of the Year because he wants to be a mentor to all Boys & Girls Club members.

    Meet Eiliethyia! She is 14 years old and an 8th grader at Driffil Middle School. She loves doing makeup for herself and others. She is also part of our Youth Advisement Council that creates a bridge between teens and the justice system. She would like to be 2024 Youth of the Year because it will give her experience in public speaking and leadership.

    Meet Moises! He is 18 years old and is a senior at Newbury Park High School. He loves to play football as well as explore and learn new skills. He would like to be 2024 Youth of the Year because he wants to help himself and his family build a better future.

    Meet Ethan! He is 15 years old and is a sophomore at River Oaks Academy. Ethan loves to be creative in arts & crafts including painting, crocheting, and drawing. He is also an expert in music and knows a wide variety of artists and genres. He would like to be 2024 Youth of the Year to create more community amongst the Boys & Girls Clubs.

    Meet Juan! He is 16 years old and a junior at Oxnard Middle College High School. Juan aspires to study business at UC Irvine, and would also love to become a barber. He wants to be 2024 Youth of the Year because it will open opportunities for him and help him achieve his goal of getting a business degree.

    Meet Jazmin! She is 17 years old and a senior at Frontier High School. She is on the varsity basketball team and is aiming to be the first woman in her family to graduate with a college degree. She wants to become the 2024 Youth of the Year because of the scholarship opportunities it provides and to inspire other young women to build their own courage. She is hoping to make her angel in heaven proud - her mom. “This one’s for you mama.”
