Seabridge Community Youth Sailing Program

The Seabridge Community Youth Sailing Program is a unique program developed by Fairwind Yacht Club (FYC), the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, and D.R. Horton. The objective of the program is to teach basic sailing skills to youth in the local community. Those enrolled in the program are members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, and there are typically three courses offered per year - spring, summer, and fall. The program utilizes four Capri 14.2 sailboats provided by FYC. There are typically two students per Capri sailboat, with a minimum of one instructor per Capri 14 sailboat at the start of the program as well as staff on a Safety Boat. The sailing instructors are volunteers from FYC and there are FYC personnel on-site at all times. This program is made possible with the support of DR Horton and Seabridge Marina.
