Year Round Day Camp
Our day camp program is open at the Martin V. Smith Youth Center from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Day campers are able to stay for our drop in programs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Day camp provides year-round child care for children 6-12. The program is widely used for schools tracking out, school in-service days, parent conferences, summer, holidays, and other school vacation days when school is not in session. Day camp registration is on line at www.positiveplace4kids.org the cost for this program is $75.00 per week ($15.00 per day equivalent) and is paid in advance or on the first day of attendance. Day camp rgistrations on line require a week’s advanced notice due to planning of field trips and availability. All day campers must be a member of the Boys & Girls club ($15.00 a year) and a sack lunch is required daily. It is the goal of our day camp program to provide school age programs that instill a sense of confidence, usefulness, belonging, and influence in the youth we serve. We encourage youth to develop positive habits, attitudes, behaviors and choices with activities that build self-esteem, self-discipline, and respect for others. Our programs strive to accommodate the needs of today’s diverse families and offers a trained staff, safe and fun environment that include planned weekly themes.
Subsidies for Year Round Day Camp.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme Martin V. Smith Youth Center accepts Cal Works, Child Development Resources Services, Children’s Home Society Services, city and state funding as part of your Day Camp payments. Check with the Day Camp Director to see if you qualify for either of these.
